Pizza Dough

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 c warm water

  2. 2 Tbs instant yeast

  3. 1 Tbs sugar

  4. 1 1/2 tsp salt

  5. 2 T olive oil (plus more for bowl)

  6. 4 cups flour

  7. 1-2 cloves finely minced garlic or 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  8. 8-10 finely chopped fresh basil leaves or 1/4 tsp dried

1. Mix yeast and warm water in a large bowl.

2. Wait 5 minutes or until you see bubbles.

3. Add sugar, salt and olive oil and mix well with wooden spoon.

4. Add 3 1/2 c of flour and stir. Dough will be sticky and wet.

5. Add chopped garlic and basil.

6. Place remaining half cup of flour on counter and place dough on top.

7. Knead until all dough is incorporated and is a smooth ball. This should take 4-5 min. A small amt of flour can be kneaded into the dough if it is still sticky.

8. Place in oiled bowl in warm place until dough has doubled in size.

9. Should yield 2 10-12” pizzas. Bake for 5 min, add toppings and bake for another 15 at 425.
