Dry ingredients:
1 3/4 cups flour
3/4 cups M & M's
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Wet ingredients:
2/3 cups (1 1/4 stick or 10 Tb) butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
Mix wet ingredients until well combined. Add dry. Let batter sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Bake for 12 minutes at 350F. or until edges are set. Let cool three minutes on cookie sheet before transferring to a cooling rack for an additional 5 min.
*Mason jar option: Layer all dry ingredients in a 1 quart (1 liter) mason jar. When ready to bake, mix wet ingredients in a large bowl. Add contents of mason jar. Stir well. Let batter sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Bake for 12 minutes at 350F.
